पुराणोपक्रमे प्रश्नः सृष्टिः संक्षेपतः पुरा । योगाख्यानं ततः प्रोक्तं कल्पाख्यानं ततः परम् ॥ ५ ॥
purāṇopakrame praśnaḥ sṛṣṭiḥ saṃkṣepataḥ purā | yogākhyānaṃ tataḥ proktaṃ kalpākhyānaṃ tataḥ param || 5 ||
പുരാണത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭത്തിൽ തന്നെ ഒരു ചോദ്യം ഉയരുന്നു; തുടർന്ന് പുരാതന സൃഷ്ടി സംക്ഷിപ്തമായി വിവരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. പിന്നെ യോഗാഖ്യാനം ഉപദേശിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; അതിനുശേഷം കല്പാഖ്യാനം വരുന്നു.
