FAQs

Worldly relationships grounded in benefit (food, wealth, favor) are unstable; when circumstances change, loyalty shifts. The verse sets up Suratha’s inner crisis that will later be resolved through devotion and insight.

Primarily outside strict pañcalakṣaṇa categories; it belongs to ethical-narrative instruction (ākhyāna/upākhyāna) within the Purāṇic teaching framework rather than sarga/pratisarga/manvantara/vaṃśa/vaṃśānucarita.

The ‘followers’ represent the mind’s tendencies that adhere to a perceived source of pleasure; when the inner ‘king’ (egoic control) weakens, these tendencies migrate to other objects. This prepares the ground for the Goddess’s teaching on delusion (moha) and liberation.
