मार्कण्डेय उवाच स एवम् चिन्तयन् विप्रो बभ्राम च हिमाचले ।
भ्रष्टपादौषधिबलो वैक्लवं परमं गतः ॥
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca sa evaṃ cintayan vipro babhrāma ca himācale | bhraṣṭapādauṣadhibalo vaiklavaṃ paramaṃ gataḥ ||
മാർകണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു: ഇങ്ങനെ ചിന്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ആ ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ ഹിമാലയപർവതത്തിൽ അലഞ്ഞു നടന്നു; പാദൗഷധികളാൽ ലഭിച്ച ശക്തി നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട് അവൻ പരമ അസഹായതയിൽ വീണു.
