फाल्गुन्यश्चोत्तरा हस्ता चित्रा चर्क्षत्रयं द्विज ।
कूर्मस्य दक्षिणे कुक्षौ बाह्यपादस्तथापरम् ॥
phālgunyaś cottarā hastā citrā carkṣatrayaṃ dvija | kūrmasya dakṣiṇe kukṣau bāhya-pādas tathāparam ||
ഹേ ദ്വിജാ! ഉത്തരാഫാൽഗുനി, ഹസ്താ, ചിത്രാ—ഈ മൂന്ന് നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾ കൂർമത്തിന്റെ ദക്ഷിണ ‘കുക്ഷി’യിൽ സ്ഥാപിതം; മറ്റിടത്ത് ബാഹ്യ പാദം നിശ്ചയിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു।
