Adhyaya 34 — Madālāsā’s Instruction on Sadācāra (Householder Conduct, Purity, and Daily Rites)
तर्जन्यङ्गुष्ठयोरन्तः पैत्र्यं तीर्थमुदाहृतम् । पितॄणां तेन तोयादि दद्याद् नान्दीमुखादृते ॥
tarjanyaṅguṣṭhayorantaḥ paitryaṃ tīrthamudāhṛtam | pitṝṇāṃ tena toyādi dadyānnāndīmukhādṛte ||
ചൂണ്ടുവിരലിനും അങ്കുഷ്ഠത്തിനും ഇടയിലെ സ്ഥലം ‘പൈതൃയ-തീർത്ഥം’ എന്നു പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ട് പിതൃകൾക്ക് ജലാദി അർപ്പിക്കണം—എന്നാൽ നാന്ദീമുഖവിധിയിൽ അല്ല.
