अर्जुनो5हं महाराज व्यक्त ते श्रोत्रमागत: । भीमादवरज: पार्थो यमाभ्यां चापि पूर्वज:,महाराज! मैं ही अर्जुन हूँ। अवश्य मेरा नाम भी आपके कानोंमें पड़ा होगा। मैं कुन्तीदेवीका पुत्र हूँ। भीमसेनसे छोटा और नकुल-सहदेवसे बड़ा हूँ
arjuno’ham mahārāja vyaktaṃ te śrotram āgataḥ | bhīmād avarajaḥ pārtho yamābhyāṃ cāpi pūrvajaḥ ||
അർജുനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—മഹാരാജാവേ! ഞാൻ അർജുനൻ. എന്റെ പേര് വ്യക്തമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ചെവിയിൽ എത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ടാകും. ഞാൻ പാർഥൻ, കുന്തിയുടെ പുത്രൻ—ഭീമനേക്കാൾ ഇളയവൻ, അശ്വിനീദേവന്മാരുടെ ഇരട്ടപുത്രന്മാരായ (നകുല-സഹദേവ) ഇരുവരേക്കാൾ മൂത്തവൻ.
