अर्जुनो5पि शरांस्तीक्ष्णान् भीष्माय निशितान् बहून् । चिक्षेप सुमहातेजास्तथा भीष्मश्न पाण्डवे,तब महातेजस्वी अर्जुनने भी भीष्मपर बहुत-से पैने बाण फेंके और भीष्मने भी पाण्डुपुत्रको अनेक तीखे बाण मारे
arjuno 'pi śarāṁs tīkṣṇān bhīṣmāya niśitān bahūn | cikṣepa sumahātejās tathā bhīṣmaś ca pāṇḍave ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—മഹാതേജസ്സുള്ള അർജുനനും ഭീഷ്മനിലേക്കു അനവധി മൂർച്ചയുള്ള, നന്നായി തീർത്ത അമ്പുകൾ എറിഞ്ഞു; അതുപോലെ ഭീഷ്മനും പാണ്ഡുപുത്രനെ അനേകം തീക്ഷ്ണശരങ്ങളാൽ പ്രഹരിച്ചു.
