Dhaumya’s Counsel on Incognito Conduct in a Royal Household (राजवसतौ आचरण-निति)
अपि होतद् दरिद्राणां व्यलीकस्थानमुत्तमम् । न मृषाभिहितं राज्ञां मनुष्येषु प्रकाशयेत्,क्योंकि ऐसी ढिठाई तो दरिद्रोंको भी बहुत अप्रिय जान पड़ती है; फिर राजाओंकी तो बात ही क्या है? राजाओंकी किसी झूठी बातको दूसरे मनुष्योंके सामने प्रकाशित न करें
api hotad daridrāṇāṁ vyalīkasthānam uttamam | na mṛṣābhihitaṁ rājñāṁ manuṣyeṣu prakāśayet |
ധൗമ്യൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ദരിദ്രർക്കുപോലും ധൃഷ്ടത അത്യന്തം അപ്രിയമാണ്; രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ കാര്യത്തിൽ പിന്നെ പറയേണ്ടതുണ്ടോ? അതിനാൽ രാജാവിനെക്കുറിച്ച് പറയപ്പെടുന്ന ഏതൊരു അസത്യവാക്കും മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തരുത്.
