Dhaumya’s Counsel on Incognito Conduct in a Royal Household (राजवसतौ आचरण-निति)
अतो5हमपि वक्ष्यामि हेतुमत्र निबोधत । हन्तेमां राजवसतिं राजपुत्रा ब्रवीम्पहम्,इसलिये मैं भी जो युक्तियुक्त बातें बताऊँगा, उन्हें यहाँ ध्यान देकर सुनो। राजपुत्रो! मैं यह बता रहा हूँ कि राजाके घरमें रहकर कैसा बर्ताव करना चाहिये? उसके अनुसार राजकुलमें रहते हुए भी तुमलोग वहाँके सब दोषोंसे पार हो जाओगे। कुरुनन्दन! विवेकी पुरुषके लिये भी राजमहलमें निवास करना अत्यन्त कठिन है
ato 'ham api vakṣyāmi hetum atra nibodhata | hanta imāṁ rājavasatiṁ rājaputrā bravīmi aham |
ധൗമ്യൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാനും കാരണം പറയുന്നു; ഇവിടെ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേൾക്കുക. ഹേ രാജപുത്രന്മാരേ, രാജവസതിയിൽ പാർക്കുമ്പോൾ എങ്ങനെ പെരുമാറണം എന്ന് ഞാൻ പറയുന്നു. ആവിധം ആചരിച്ചാൽ രാജകുലത്തിനകത്ത് താമസിച്ചിട്ടും അവിടെ ഉദിക്കുന്ന അനേകം ദോഷങ്ങളെ അതിക്രമിക്കാം. ഹേ കുരുനന്ദന, വിവേകിയ്ക്കുപോലും രാജപ്രാസാദത്തിൽ വാസം അത്യന്തം ദുഷ്കരം.
