Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 33 — Kuru Cattle-Raid and Matsya Mobilization (भूमिंजय-प्रेरणा)
सुस्कन्धो<यं महावृक्षो गदारूप इव स्थित: । अहमेनमपारुज्य द्रावयिष्यामि शात्रवान्,यह सामने जो महान् वृक्ष है, इसकी शाखाएँ बड़ी सुन्दर हैं। यह तो मानो गदाके ही रूपमें खड़ा है। अतः मैं इसीको उखाड़कर इसके द्वारा शत्रुदलको मार भगाऊँगा
suskandho 'yaṃ mahāvṛkṣo gadārūpa iva sthitaḥ | aham enam apārujya drāvayiṣyāmi śātravān |
മുന്നിലുള്ള ഈ മഹാവൃക്ഷത്തിന് ദൃഢമായ തണ്ട് ഉണ്ട്; ദൃശ്യമായ ഗദാരൂപംപോലെ അത് നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു. ഞാൻ ഇതിനെ വേരോടെ പിഴുതെടുത്ത് ആയുധമാക്കി ശത്രുസൈന്യത്തെ ഓടിച്ചുവിടും.
