Educational Q&A

The verse uses Indra’s reunion with Śacī as a simile to present marital reunion as auspicious and dharmic—ideally preceded by reverence to the divine and affirmed by the goodwill of one’s community.

Mārkaṇḍeya describes a husband reuniting with his wife, likening their meeting to Mahendra (Indra) coming together with Paulomī (Śacī), emphasizing the splendour and auspiciousness of the moment.
