मार्कण्डेय उवाच तमुवाच पिता भूय: प्रहृष्टो भरतर्षभ । गच्छायो ध्यां प्रशाधीति राम॑ रक्तान्तलोचनम्
Mārkaṇḍeya uvāca: tam uvāca pitā bhūyaḥ prahṛṣṭo bharatarṣabha | gacchāyodhyāṃ praśādhīti rāmaṃ raktāntalocanam ||
മാർക്കണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ പിതാവ് വീണ്ടും ആനന്ദത്തിൽ നിറഞ്ഞ് ആ ഭാരതശ്രേഷ്ഠനോട് പറഞ്ഞു—“അയോധ്യയിലേക്കു പോയി രാജ്യം ഭരിക്ക.” ഇങ്ങനെ, കണ്ണുകളുടെ കോണുകൾ വികാരത്താൽ ചുവന്നിരുന്ന രാമനോടാണ് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞത്।
