तथेति रामस्तद् वारि प्रतिगृह्माभिसंस्कृतम् । चकार नेत्रयो: शौचं लक्ष्मणश्ष महामना:,“बहुत अच्छा” कहकर श्रीरामचन्द्रजीने वह अभिमन्त्रित जल ले लिया। फिर उन्होंने तथा महामना लक्ष्मणने भी उससे अपने दोनों नेत्र धोये
tatheti rāmas tad vāri pratigṛhya abhi-saṁskṛtam | cakāra netrayoḥ śaucaṁ lakṣmaṇaś ca mahāmanāḥ ||
“തഥാസ്തു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ശ്രീരാമൻ മന്ത്രസംസ്കൃതമായ ആ ജലം സ്വീകരിച്ചു. തുടർന്ന് അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്റെ ഇരുകണ്ണുകളും ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു; മഹാമനസ്സനായ ലക്ഷ്മണനും അതേ ജലത്തോടെ കണ്ണുകൾ കഴുകി.
