स भृशं ताडयामास रावणिर्मायया5<वृत: । रावणकुमार अपनी मायासे आवृत होनेके कारण स्वयं किसीकी दृष्टिमें नहीं आता था; परंतु वह उन दोनों भाइयोंको तथा सम्पूर्ण वानरोंको भी निरन्तर अपने बाणोंद्वारा घायल कर रहा था
sa bhṛśaṃ tāḍayāmāsa rāvaṇir māyayāvṛtaḥ |
മാർക്കണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—മായാവൃതനായ രാവണപുത്രൻ അത്യന്തം കഠിനമായി പ്രഹരിച്ചു. മായാബലത്തിൽ മറഞ്ഞതിനാൽ അവൻ ആരുടെയും കണ്ണിൽ പെട്ടില്ല; എങ്കിലും ആ രണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാരെയും സമസ്ത വാനരസൈന്യത്തെയും അവൻ നിരന്തരം തന്റെ അമ്പുകളാൽ മുറിവേൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
