Dvaītavana: Brahmaghoṣa, Rṣi-saṅgha, and Baka Dālbhyā’s Upadeśa to Yudhiṣṭhira
darśanīyaṃ ca śūraṃ ca mādrīputraṃ yudhiṣṭhira
The verse highlights an ideal of kṣatriya excellence: outer grace (darśanīya) joined with inner courage (śūra). In epic ethics, true worth is not merely appearance or lineage, but the harmony of admirable presence with proven valor.
Vaiśampāyana, narrating to Janamejaya, reports a description addressed to Yudhiṣṭhira, praising Mādrī’s son as both handsome and heroic—an identifying commendation of one of the Pandava twins (most often Nakula) within the ongoing account.
