Skanda’s Consecration as Devasenāpati
मार्कण्डेय उवाच तच्छुत्वाज्धिरसो वाक््यं जातवेदास्तथाकरोत् । राजन् बृहस्पतिर्नाम तस्याप्यज्धिरस: सुत:,मार्कण्डेयजी कहते हैं--राजन्! अंगिराका यह वचन सुनकर अग्निदेवने वैसा ही किया। उन्हें अपना प्रथम पुत्र मान लिया। फिर अंगिराके भी बृहस्पति नामक पुत्र उत्पन्न हुआ
Mārkaṇḍeya uvāca— tac chrutvā Āṅgirasaḥ vākyam Jātavedās tathākarot | rājan Bṛhaspatir nāma tasyāpy Āṅgirasaḥ sutaḥ |
മാർക്കണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ഹേ രാജാവേ, അംഗിരസിന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ട ജാതവേദസ് (അഗ്നി) അതുപോലെ തന്നെ ചെയ്തു; അവനെ തന്റെ ആദ്യ പുത്രനായി സ്വീകരിച്ചു. തുടർന്ന് അംഗിരസിനും ബൃഹസ്പതി എന്നൊരു പുത്രൻ ജനിച്ചു.
