धुन्धुमार इति ख्यातो नाम्नाप्रतिरथो5भवत् | उस समय महामना राजा कुवलाश्व धुन्धुको मारनेके कारण “धुन्धुमार” नामसे विख्यात हो गये। उनका सामना करनेवाला वीर कोई नहीं रह गया था
Dhundhumāra iti khyāto nāmnāpratiratho 'bhavat |
മാർക്കണ്ഡേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ധുന്ധുവിനെ വധിച്ചതിനാൽ മഹാമനസ്സനായ രാജാവ് കുവലാശ്വൻ “ധുന്ധുമാരൻ” എന്ന നാമത്തിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധനായി. അവൻ അപരാജേയ യോദ്ധാവായി തെളിഞ്ഞു; അവനെ നേരിടാൻ കഴിയുന്ന വീരൻ ആരും ശേഷിച്ചില്ല॥
