एवं महाबलो दैत्यो न श्रुतो मे तपोधन,तपस्याके धनी मुनीश्वर! ऐसा महाबली दैत्य तो मैंने कभी नहीं सुना था, अतः: भगवन्‌! मैं इसके विषयमें यथार्थ बातें जानना चाहता हूँ। महामते! आप यह सारी कथा विस्तारपूर्वक बताइये

Transliteration

evaṁ mahābalo daityo na śruto me tapodhana, tapasyāke dhanī munīśvara! etādṛśaḥ mahābalī daityo mayā kadācid api na śrutaḥ; ataḥ bhagavan, asya viṣaye yathārtha-vārtāḥ jñātum icchāmi. mahāmate, iyam sarvā kathā vistara-pūrvakaṁ vada.

Translation

ഹേ തപോധനാ! ഇത്തരമൊരു മഹാബലവാനായ ദൈത്യനെക്കുറിച്ച് ഞാൻ ഒരിക്കലും കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല. അതിനാൽ ഹേ ഭഗവൻ, അവനെപ്പറ്റിയ യഥാർത്ഥം അറിയാൻ ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു. ഹേ മഹാമതേ, ഈ മുഴുവൻ കഥയും വിശദമായി പറയുക.
