जीवनाय समाक्तलिन्नं वसु दत्त्वा महीयते । वैश्यं तु वासयेद् यस्तु सर्वयज्ञै: स इष्टवान्
jīvanāya samāktalinnaṃ vasu dattvā mahīyate | vaiśyaṃ tu vāsayed yas tu sarvayajñaiḥ sa iṣṭavān ||
മറ്റൊരാളുടെ ജീവൻ നിലനിർത്താൻ ധനം ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ ആദരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. വൈശ്യനു വാസസ്ഥലവും ആശ്രയവും നൽകുന്നവൻ, സർവയജ്ഞങ്ങളും അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചവനായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
