The Account of the Slaying of Madhu and Kaiṭabha
सम्यग् वर्षति पर्जन्ये सस्यसम्पद उत्तमा: । निरामया: सुधर्मिष्ठा: प्रजा धर्मपरायणा:,इन्द्रके शासनकालमें मेघ ठीक समयपर अच्छी वर्षा करते और खेतीकी उपज अच्छी होती थी। सारी प्रजा रोग-व्याधिसे रहित, धर्ममें स्थित तथा धर्मको ही अपना परम आश्रय माननेवाली थी

samyag varṣati parjanye sasyasampada uttamāḥ |
nirāmayāḥ sudharmiṣṭhāḥ prajā dharmaparāyaṇāḥ ||
മേഘങ്ങൾ യഥാസമയത്ത് സമ്യകമായി മഴ പെയ്തപ്പോൾ വിളസമ്പത്ത് അത്യുത്തമമായിരുന്നു. പ്രജകൾ രോഗരഹിതരും സുദർമ്മനിഷ്ഠരുമായി, ധർമ്മത്തെയേ പരമാശ്രയമായി കരുതുന്നവരായിരുന്നു.
