मधुकैटभवधोपाख्यानम्

The Account of the Slaying of Madhu and Kaiṭabha

तावतां गोसहस्राणां फल प्राप्रोति दायक: । यदेनो यौवनकृतं तत्‌ सर्व नश्यते ध्रुवम्‌,जो प्रतिदिन अतिथियोंको देकर शेष अन्नसे ही भोजनका काम चलाता है, उसके अन्नके जितने ग्रास अतिथि ब्राह्मण नित्य भोजन करता है, उतने ही हजार गौओंके दानका पुण्य उस दाताको प्राप्त होता है, तथा उसके द्वारा युवावस्थामें जो पाप हुए होते हैं, वे सब निश्चय ही नष्ट हो जाते हैं

tāvatāṁ go-sahasrāṇāṁ phalaṁ prāpnoti dāyakaḥ | yad eno yauvana-kṛtaṁ tat sarvaṁ naśyate dhruvam ||

ബകൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ദാതാവിന് അത്ര സഹസ്ര ഗാവുകളുടെ ദാനഫലം ലഭിക്കുന്നു; യുവാവസ്ഥയിൽ ചെയ്ത പാപമൊക്കെയും നിശ്ചയമായും നശിക്കുന്നു।
