The verse highlights a structured cosmos: many distinct classes of beings exist and dwell under particular divine jurisdictions (here, Kubera). It implicitly teaches reverence for cosmic order and the recognition that power and wealth (Kubera’s sphere) are surrounded by guardians and diverse forces, not merely human concerns.
Lomaśa, guiding the Pāṇḍavas during their forest journey, describes the region associated with Kubera and notes that countless supernatural beings—Yakṣas, Rākṣasas, Kinnaras, Nāgas, Suparṇas, and Gandharvas—reside in or around Kubera’s dwelling.
