भुक्तवत्सु द्विजेन्द्रेष यथावत् सम्प्रदापयेत् । वाचकं भरतश्रेष्ठ भोजयित्वा स्वलंकृतम्
bhuktavatsu dvijendreṣu yathāvat sampradāpayet | vācakaṃ bharataśreṣṭha bhojayitvā svalakṛtam, bharatabhūṣaṇa |
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ശ്രേഷ്ഠ ബ്രാഹ്മണർ ഭോജനം കഴിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ അവർക്കു വിധിപൂർവ്വം യഥോചിതമായ ദാനങ്ങൾ നൽകണം. പിന്നെ, ഹേ ഭാരതശ്രേഷ്ഠാ, വസ്ത്രാഭരണങ്ങളാൽ അലങ്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ട കഥാവാചകനെ ആദരിച്ചു ഉത്തമ അന്നംകൊണ്ട് ഭോജനം നൽകണം; അതിനുശേഷം ദാന-മാനങ്ങളാൽ അവനെ സന്തുഷ്ടനാക്കുന്നതാണ് ഉചിതം.
