अतः: पर प्रवक्ष्यामि यानि देयानि भारते । वाच्यमाने तु विप्रेभ्यो राजन् पर्वणि पर्वणि
ataḥ paraṁ pravakṣyāmi yāni deyāni bhārate | vācyamāne tu viprebhyo rājan parvaṇi parvaṇi ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“ഇനി ‘ഭാരത’ (മഹാഭാരത)ത്തിൽ ഏതു ദാനങ്ങളാണ് നൽകേണ്ടതെന്ന് ഞാൻ വിവരിക്കും. രാജാവേ, ബ്രാഹ്മണർക്കായി കഥ പാരായണം നടക്കുമ്പോൾ, ഓരോ പർവത്തിലും യോജ്യമായ ദാനങ്ങൾ അർപ്പിക്കണം.”
