इदं तृतीयं भ्रातृणामर्थ यत्‌ स्थातुमिच्छसि । विशुद्धोईसि महाभाग सुखी विगतकल्मष:

Transliteration

idaṁ tṛtīyaṁ bhrātṝṇām artha yat sthātum icchasi | viśuddho 'si mahābhāga sukhī vigata-kalmaṣaḥ ||

Translation

വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഇത് നിന്റെ മൂന്നാം പരീക്ഷയാണ്, സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഹിതാർത്ഥമായി. സ്വന്തം സുഖം അവഗണിച്ച് അവരുടെ വേണ്ടി (നരകത്തിലായാലും) നില്ക്കാൻ നീ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അതിനാൽ, ഹേ മഹാഭാഗാ, നീ വിശുദ്ധനെന്ന് തെളിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. നീ കല്മഷരഹിതൻ; അതുകൊണ്ട് സുഖത്തോടെ ഇരിക്ക.
