अस्तब्ध: पूजयेन्मान्यान् गुरून् सेवेदमायया । अर्चेद् देवानदम्भेन श्रियमिच्छेदकुत्सिताम्
astabdhaḥ pūjayen mānyān gurūn seved amāyayā | arced devān adambhena śriyam icched akutsitām ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അഹങ്കാരം വിട്ട് വിനയത്തോടെ മാന്യരെ ആദരിക്കണം. കപടമില്ലാതെ ഗുരുക്കന്മാരെ സേവിക്കണം. ഡംഭമില്ലാതെ ദേവന്മാരെ ആരാധിക്കണം. സമൃദ്ധിയും നിന്ദാരഹിതവും മലിനതയില്ലാത്തതുമായ മാർഗങ്ങളിലൂടെയേ ആഗ്രഹിക്കണം।
