सत्ये तपसि दाने च यज्ञाधिकरणे तथा । धनुर्वेदे च वेदे च नीत्यां चैवानुरक्षणे
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
satye tapasi dāne ca yajñādhikaraṇe tathā |
dhanurvede ca vede ca nītyāṃ caivānurakṣaṇe |
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—സത്യം, തപസ്, ദാനം, യജ്ഞങ്ങളുടെ യഥാവിധി അനുഷ്ഠാന-നിർവഹണം, വേദവും ധനുർവേദവും ഉള്ള പ്രാവീണ്യം, കൂടാതെ നീതിശാസ്ത്രവും പ്രജാരക്ഷണവും—ഇവയിലൊക്കെയും നിനക്കു തുല്യനായ മറ്റൊരു മഹാരഥനെ ഞാൻ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല.
