Educational Q&A

This line is a colophon (chapter-ending marker), not a doctrinal verse. It situates the preceding teaching within the Mokṣa-dharma portion of the Śānti Parvan and notes that the chapter’s topic is Śuka’s supplementary inquiry—framing the discourse as part of a liberation-oriented ethical and philosophical instruction.

The text formally closes Adhyāya 242. It identifies the work (Mahābhārata), the larger book (Śānti Parvan), the subsection (Mokṣa-dharma), and the thematic occasion (Śuka’s follow-up question), indicating that the chapter has concluded.
