अनन्तरं क्षत्रियस्य तत्र कि विचिकित्स्यते | यथास्य धर्मों न ग्लायेन्नेयाच्छत्रुवशं यथा । तत् कर्तव्यमिहेत्याहुर्नात्मानवसादयेत्
anantaraṃ kṣatriyasya tatra kiṃ vicikitsyate | yathāsya dharmo na glāyen neyāc chatrūvaśaṃ yathā | tat kartavyam ihāty āhur nātmānam avasādayet |
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ആപത്ത് മാറിയ ശേഷം ക്ഷത്രിയന് ഇനി എന്ത് സംശയം? തന്റെ ധർമ്മം ക്ഷയിക്കാതെയും ശത്രുവശത്തിലാകാതെയും ഇരിക്കുവാൻ വിധം അവൻ പ്രവർത്തിക്കണം. ജ്ഞാനികൾ ഇതേ ഇവിടെ അവന്റെ കടമയെന്ന് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു; അവൻ സ്വയം തളരരുത്, വീണ്ടും ദുരിതത്തിലേക്ക് സ്വയം തള്ളരുത്।
