Shloka 21
तस्य तद् वचन श्रुत्वा दु:खितस्य विशेषत: । उवाच राजन पुत्रस्ते प्राप्तकालमिदं वच:,राजन! अत्यन्त दुःखी हुए अश्वत्थामाकी वह बात सुनकर आपके पुत्र राजा दुर्योधनके नेत्रोंस शोकके आँसू बहने लगे। उसने दोनों हाथोंसे नेत्रोंको पोंछा और कृपाचार्य आदि समस्त वीरोंसे यह समयोचित वचन कहा--
tasya tad vacanaṁ śrutvā duḥkhitasya viśeṣataḥ | uvāca rājan putras te prāptakālam idaṁ vacaḥ ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു— അത്യന്തം ദുഃഖിതനായവന്റെ ആ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ, ഹേ രാജാവേ, നിന്റെ പുത്രൻ സമയോചിതമായ വാക്ക് പറഞ്ഞു.
