अभिषिक्तस्ततो देवैर्वरुणो5पि महायशा:
abhiṣiktas tato devair varuṇo 'pi mahāyaśāḥ
അതിനുശേഷം മഹായശസ്സുള്ള വരുണനും ദേവന്മാരാൽ അഭിഷിക്തനായി॥
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Legitimate authority is affirmed through sanctioned consecration: even divine roles are established in harmony with cosmic order (ṛta), suggesting that power should be grounded in rightful appointment and moral governance rather than mere force.
The narrator Vaiśampāyana reports that, after preceding events, the gods perform an abhiṣeka (consecration) for Varuṇa as well, marking his formal installation and recognition as an illustrious deity within the divine order.
