अध्याय ४ — दुर्योधनस्य असंधि-निश्चयः

Duryodhana’s Refusal of Reconciliation

आत्मनोडर्थे त्वया लोको यत्नतः सर्व आहृत: । स ते संशायितस्तात आत्मा वै भरतर्षभ,“भरतश्रेष्ठ! तुमने अपनी रक्षाके लिये ही प्रयत्नपूर्वक सारे जगत्‌के लोगोंको एकत्र किया था, किंतु तुम्हारा ही जीवन संशयमें पड़ गया है

ātmanaḥ arthe tvayā loko yatnataḥ sarva āhṛtaḥ | sa te saṁśāyitas tāta ātmā vai bharatarṣabha ||

ഭരതശ്രേഷ്ഠാ! നിന്റെ സ്വന്തം രക്ഷയ്ക്കായി നീ പരിശ്രമിച്ച് എല്ലായിടത്തുനിന്നും ജനങ്ങളെ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തു; എന്നാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ, പ്രിയനേ, നിന്റെ ജീവൻ തന്നെയാണ് സംശയത്തിലായിരിക്കുന്നത്.
