अध्याय ३: कृपस्य दुर्योधनं प्रति नीत्युपदेशः
Kṛpa’s Counsel to Duryodhana
सो<वतीर्य रथात्तूर्ण गदापाणिरयुध्यत । युद्धस्थलमें सामने खड़े हुए उन योद्धाओंके साथ जूझते समय भीमसेनको बड़ा क्रोध हुआ। वे तुरंत ही रथसे उतरकर हाथमें गदा ले उन सबके साथ युद्ध करने लगे
so 'vatīrya rathāt tūrṇaṃ gadāpāṇir ayudhyata |
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അപ്പോൾ ഭീമസേനൻ വേഗത്തിൽ രഥത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങി, ഗദ കൈയിൽ പിടിച്ച് യുദ്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെട്ടു. യുദ്ധഭൂമിയിൽ മുന്നിൽ നിലകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന യോദ്ധാക്കളുമായി ഏറ്റുമുട്ടുമ്പോൾ അവന്റെ ക്രോധം അത്യന്തം വർധിച്ചു; അതിനാൽ രഥം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് ഗദ എടുത്ത് അവരൊക്കെയുമായും മുഖാമുഖം പോരാടി.
