कर्णनिधनवृत्तान्तनिवेदनम् | Reporting Karṇa’s Fall to Yudhiṣṭhira
सत्यं मया सदा वाच्यमिति तस्याभवद् व्रतम् । सत्यवादीति विख्यात: स तदा55सीद्ू धनंजय,धनंजय! उसने यह नियम ले लिया था कि मैं सदा सत्य ही बोलूँगा। इसलिये उन दिनों वह सत्यवादीके नामसे विख्यात हो गया था
satyaṃ mayā sadā vācyam iti tasyābhavad vratam | satyavādīti vikhyātaḥ sa tadāsīd dhanaṃjaya ||
അവൻ “ഞാൻ എപ്പോഴും സത്യം മാത്രമേ പറയൂ” എന്ന വ്രതം സ്വീകരിച്ചു. ആ ദൃഢനിശ്ചയം കൊണ്ടുതന്നെ, ധനഞ്ജയാ, ആ കാലത്ത് അവൻ ‘സത്യവാദി’ എന്ന പേരിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധനായി.
