कर्णनिधनवृत्तान्तनिवेदनम् | Reporting Karṇa’s Fall to Yudhiṣṭhira

कौशिकोडप्यभवद्‌ विप्रस्तपस्वी नो बहुश्रुतः । नदीनां संगमे ग्रामाददूरात्‌ू स किलावसत्‌,इसी तरह कौशिक नामका एक तपस्वी ब्राह्मण था, जो बहुत पढ़ा-लिखा या शास्त्रज्ञ नहीं था। वह गाँवके पास ही नदियोंके संगमपर निवास करता था

kauśiko 'py abhavad vipras tapasvī no bahuśrutaḥ | nadīnāṃ saṅgame grāmād adūrāt sa kilāvasat |

വായു പറഞ്ഞു—കൗശികൻ എന്നൊരു ബ്രാഹ്മണ തപസ്വി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ശാസ്ത്രങ്ങളിൽ അദ്ദേഹം അധികം ബഹുശ്രുതനല്ല. ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഏറെ ദൂരമല്ലാതെ, നദികളുടെ സംഗമസ്ഥാനത്ത് അവൻ വസിച്ചു.
