क्रूरां शरीरसंघट्टां सादिनक्रां दुरत्ययाम् । द्रोण: प्रावर्तयत् तत्र नदीमन्तकगामिनीम्
sañjaya uvāca |
krūrāṃ śarīrasaṃghaṭṭāṃ sādinakrāṃ duratyayām |
droṇaḥ prāvartayat tatra nadīm antakagāminīm ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അവിടെ ദ്രോണൻ യുദ്ധഭൂമിയിൽ രക്തത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ക്രൂര നദി പ്രവഹിപ്പിച്ചു—ചതഞ്ഞ ശരീരങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ട് നിറഞ്ഞത്, മുതലകളും മറ്റു ഹിംസ്ര ജീവികളും നിറഞ്ഞത്, കടക്കാൻ അത്യന്തം ദുഷ്കരം; അത് മനുഷ്യരെ അന്തകൻ (മരണം) തന്നെയിലേക്കു ഒഴുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന നദിപോലെ തോന്നി।
