Arjuna’s Forward Drive Toward Bhīṣma

संग्रामाद्‌ व्यपयातव्यमेतत्‌ कर्म ममाह्विकम्‌ | इति तत्‌ कृतवांश्वाहं यथोक्तं भरतर्षभ,“महाबली नरेश! पूर्वकालमें मैंने तुम्हारे लिये यह प्रतिज्ञा की थी कि दस हजार महामनस्वी क्षत्रियोंका वध करके ही मुझे संग्रामभूमिसे हटना होगा और यह मेरा दैनिक कर्म होगा। भरतश्रेष्ठ! जैसा मैंने कहा था, वैला अबतक करता आया हूँ

saṅgrāmād vyapayātavyam etat karma mamāhvikaṃ | iti tat kṛtavānś cāhaṃ yathoktaṃ bharatarṣabha |

സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു— “യുദ്ധഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്ന് പിന്മാറുക എനിക്കില്ല; ഇതാണ് എന്റെ പ്രതിജ്ഞാബദ്ധമായ നിത്യകർമ്മം. ഭരതശ്രേഷ്ഠാ, ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ തന്നെയാണ് ഞാൻ ചെയ്തുവന്നത്.”
