Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)
शास्त्रमार्गनुसारेण तद् विद्धि मनुजर्षभ । ततः सोडन््तर्हितो बाहुः पितुर्मम जनाधिप
śāstramārgānusāreṇa tad viddhi manujarṣabha | tataḥ so 'ntarhito bāhuḥ pitur mama janādhipa ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ മനുഷ്യശ്രേഷ്ഠാ! ഞാൻ ശാസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ നിർദേശിച്ച മാർഗ്ഗം അനുസരിച്ചുതന്നെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചതാണെന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞുകൊൾക. ഹേ രാജാവേ! അതിനുശേഷം എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ആ ഭുജം ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ നിന്ന് അപ്രത്യക്ഷമായി.
