वाणिज्यं सत्पथस्थानमातिथ्यं प्रशमो दम: । विप्राणां स्वागतं त्यागो वैश्यधर्म: सनातन:
vāṇijyaṁ satpathasthānam ātithyaṁ praśamo damaḥ | viprāṇāṁ svāgataṁ tyāgo vaiśyadharmaḥ sanātanaḥ ||
ശ്രീ മഹേശ്വരൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—സത്പഥത്തിൽ നിലകൊള്ളുന്ന വ്യാപാരം, അതിഥിസത്കാരം, ശമവും ദമവും, ബ്രാഹ്മണസ്വാഗത-സത്കാരം, ത്യാഗം—ഇവയാണ് വൈശ്യന്റെ സനാതനധർമ്മം.
