श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच मेध्यान्वेषी महीं कृत्स्नां विचराम्यनिशं सदा । न च मेध्यतरं किंचित्‌ श्मशानादिह लक्ष्यते

Transliteration

śrīmaheśvara uvāca medhyānveṣī mahīṃ kṛtsnāṃ vicarāmy aniśaṃ sadā | na ca medhyataraṃ kiṃcit śmaśānād iha lakṣyate ||

Translation

ശ്രീ മഹേശ്വരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—പ്രിയേ! ശുദ്ധിയെ അന്വേഷിച്ച് ഞാൻ എപ്പോഴും പകലും രാത്രിയും മുഴുവൻ ഭൂമിയിലുടനീളം സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഇവിടെ ശ്മശാനത്തേക്കാൾ അധികം ശുദ്ധമായത് എനിക്കൊന്നും ദൃശ്യമാകുന്നില്ല.
