अचिरेणैव कालेन कीट: पार्थिवसत्तम | प्रजापालनधर्मेण प्रेत्य विप्रत्वमागत:

acireṇaiva kālena kīṭaḥ pārthiva-sattama | prajā-pālana-dharmeṇa pretya vipratvam āgataḥ ||

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ നൃപശ്രേഷ്ഠാ! അല്പകാലത്തിനകം ആ കീടം പ്രജാപാലനധർമ്മത്തിന്റെ ഫലമായി മരിച്ച ശേഷം ബ്രാഹ്മണത്വം പ്രാപിച്ചു.
