Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity

सर्वलक्षणहीनो5पि समुदाचारवान्‌ नर: । श्रद्दधानोडनसूयुश्च॒ शतं वर्षाणि जीवति

sarvalakṣaṇahīno 'pi sadācāravān naraḥ | śraddadhāno 'nasūyuś ca śataṁ varṣāṇi jīvati ||

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—എല്ലാ ശുഭലക്ഷണങ്ങളും ഇല്ലാത്തവനായാലും, സദാചാരത്തിൽ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നവനും ശ്രദ്ധയുള്ളവനും കുറ്റദൃഷ്ടിയില്ലാത്തവനും ആയ മനുഷ്യൻ നൂറുവർഷം ജീവിക്കുന്നു.
