Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity

विशीला भिजन्नमर्यादा नित्यं संकीर्णमैथुना: । अल्पायुषो भवन्तीह नरा निरयगामिन:

viśīlā bhijannamaryādā nityaṁ saṅkīrṇa-maithunāḥ | alpāyuṣo bhavantīha narā niraya-gāminaḥ ||

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ശീലഹീനരും ധർമ്മത്തിന്റെ മര്യാദ നിരന്തരം ലംഘിക്കുന്നവരും നിഷിദ്ധപരിധികൾ കടന്ന് അയോഗ്യമായ മൈഥുനത്തിൽ പതിവായി ഏർപ്പെടുന്നവരും—ഇഹലോകത്തിൽ അല്പായുസ്സുള്ളവരായി, മരണാനന്തരം നരകഗാമികളാകുന്നു.
