Duḥṣanta–Śakuntalā: Gandharva Marriage and Succession Condition
वैशम्पायन उवाच मानुषेषु मनुष्येन्द्र सम्भूता ये दिवौकस: । प्रथमं दानवांश्वैव तांस््ते वक्ष्यामि सर्वश:
vaiśampāyana uvāca
mānuṣeṣu manuṣyendra sambhūtā ye divaukasaḥ |
prathamaṃ dānavāṃś caiva tāṃs te vakṣyāmi sarvaśaḥ ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—മനുഷ്യേന്ദ്രാ! മനുഷ്യരിൽ അവതരിച്ച ദിവ്യലോകവാസികളുടെ കഥ ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് പറയും; ആദ്യം ദാനവന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചുതന്നെ സമഗ്രമായി വിവരണം ചെയ്യും.
