यस्मिन् काले जपन्नास्ते धीमान् सत्यपराक्रम: । नादेयं ब्राह्मणेष्वासीत् तस्मिन् काले महात्मन:
Translation
വസുഷേണൻ (കർണൻ) അത്യന്തം ധീമാനും സത്യപരാക്രമിയും ആയിരുന്നു. അവൻ ജപത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന സമയത്ത്, ബ്രാഹ്മണർ ചോദിച്ചാൽ നൽകാതെ വിടുന്ന ഒന്നും ആ മഹാത്മാവിനോടില്ലായിരുന്നു।
