स हि सर्वस्य लोकस्य हितमात्मन एव च | चिकीर्षन् सुमहातेजा रेमे भरतसत्तम,भरतश्रेष्ठ! महातेजस्वी राजा युधिष्ठिर सब लोगोंका और अपना भी हित करनेकी चेष्टामें लगे रहकर सदा प्रसन्नतापूर्वक समय बिताते थे
sa hi sarvasya lokasya hitam ātmana eva ca | cikīrṣan sumahātejā reme bharatasattama ||
ഹേ ഭാരതശ്രേഷ്ഠാ! മഹാതേജസ്വിയായ രാജാവ് യുദ്ധിഷ്ഠിരൻ സർവ്വലോകത്തിന്റെയും തന്റെതുമായ ഹിതം ചെയ്യുവാൻ നിരന്തരം ശ്രമിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് സന്തോഷത്തോടെ കാലം കഴിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ആനന്ദം വെറും ഭോഗത്തിൽ അല്ല; ധർമ്മയുക്തമായ കല്യാണപ്രവൃത്തിയിലായിരുന്നു.
