देवसत्रे मृत्युनिरोधः, पूर्वेन्द्राणां मानुषावतरणम्, द्रौपदी-वरकथनम्

अर्जुनेन प्रयुक्तांस्तान् बाणान् वेगवतस्तदा । प्रतिहत्य ननादोच्चै: सैन्यानि तदपूजयन्
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: Arjunena prayuktāṁs tān bāṇān vegavatas tadā pratihatya nanādoccaiḥ; sainyāni tad apūjayan.
അപ്പോൾ അർജുനൻ പ്രയോഗിച്ച ആ വേഗമേറിയ അമ്പുകളെ പ്രതിഹതിച്ച് കർണ്ണൻ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ സിംഹനാദം മുഴക്കി; സൈന്യങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം അവന്റെ ആ അത്ഭുതകൃത്യത്തെ പ്രശംസിച്ചു।
