विश्रान्तेडथ गुरौ तस्मिन् पौत्रानादाय कौरवान् | शिष्यत्वेन ददौ भीष्मो वसूनि विविधानि च
viśrānte 'tha gurau tasmin pautrān ādāya kauravān | śiṣyatvena dadau bhīṣmo vasūni vividhāni ca ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഗുരു വിശ്രമം കൈക്കொண்டപ്പോൾ, പരാക്രമശാലിയായ ഭീഷ്മൻ കുരുവംശത്തിലെ പൗത്രന്മാരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് അവരെ ശിഷ്യരൂപത്തിൽ ആചാര്യനു ഏല്പിച്ചു; നാനാവിധ സമ്പത്തും അർപ്പിച്ചു।
