Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)
पश्यति सम महाबाहुं भीम॑ भीमपराक्रमम् । आर्यकेण च दृष्ट: स पृथाया आर्यकेण च
paśyati sa mahābāhuṃ bhīmaṃ bhīmaparākramam | āryakeṇa ca dṛṣṭaḥ sa pṛthāyā āryakeṇa ca ||
വൈശംപായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം മഹാബാഹുവും ഭയങ്കരപരാക്രമിയുമായ ഭീമനെ കണ്ടു. അതേ സമയത്ത് പൃഥയുടെ വംശബന്ധമുള്ള വൃദ്ധനായ നാഗൻ ആര്യകനും അവനെ കണ്ടു. വംശജനെന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ് ആര്യകൻ അവനെ നെഞ്ചോടു ചേർത്ത് ശക്തമായി ആലിംഗനം ചെയ്ത് ഹർഷിച്ചു. മഹായശസ്സുള്ള നാഗരാജൻ വാസുകിയും ഭീമസേനനോട് അത്യന്തം പ്രസന്നനായി പറഞ്ഞു—“ഇവനു പ്രിയമായ ഏത് സേവനം ചെയ്യണം? ധനം, സ്വർണ്ണം, രത്നനിധി ഇവനു നൽകട്ടെയോ?”
