Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)
ततो वासुकिरभ्येत्य नागैरनुगतस्तदा
tato vāsukir abhyetya nāgair anugatas tadā
അപ്പോൾ വാസുകി അനേകം നാഗന്മാരോടുകൂടെ അവിടെ എത്തി, ഭയങ്കരപരാക്രമിയായ മഹാബാഹു ഭീമസേനനെ കണ്ടു. അതേ നിമിഷം നാഗരാജൻ ആര്യകനും അവനെ കണ്ടു—അവൻ പൃഥയുടെ പിതാവായ ശൂരസേനന്റെ മാതാമഹനായിരുന്നു. തന്റെ ദൗഹിത്രന്റെ ദൗഹിത്രനെ നെഞ്ചോടു ചേർത്ത് ശക്തമായി ആലിംഗനം ചെയ്ത് ആനന്ദിച്ചു. മഹായശസ്സുള്ള നാഗരാജൻ വാസുകിയും ഭീമസേനനോട് അത്യന്തം പ്രസന്നനായി പറഞ്ഞു—“ഇവനു പ്രിയമായ ഏത് സേവനം ചെയ്യണം? ധനകൂമ്പാരവും സ്വർണ്ണവും രത്നനിധിയും ഇവനു നൽകട്ടെയോ?”
